Helleborus Pink Frost sports leathery green leaves with a distinct silver frosting. The plants’ unique foliage is held by thick burgundy stems. These flowering bushes are loved for their resistance to deer and rabbits, shade tolerance, evergreen foliage, and unique winter blooms. The Pink Frost bush features cup-shaped, upward-facing flowers that rise high above the foliage. Burgundy buds bloom into a soft pink and white, and sport center crowns of dainty yellow stamens. Thick flowering stems usually put out between one and four blooms per stem. The Pink Frost is best grown in organically rich, humusy, well-drained soils in partial shade to full shade. We recommend planting your Helleborus in areas protected from cold winter winds for best results. Additionally, you can apply a well balanced slow release fertilizer in the warmer seasons or spring and summer. Pink Frost hellebore is a strong grower. Within just a few years, this evergreen Lenten Rose can reach a diameter of up to 3 feet, which makes it ideal for plantings in the garden as a groundcover. It makes a superb deer and rabbit-resistant groundcover and a perfect choice perennial for shady borders as well as woodland garden additions.
